In the 1950s, the tradition of braided and woven leather spread from the Balkans to the rest of Europe. In 1963, Ivan Kadic invented an ingenious spiral cutter that could cut one long strip of hundreds of meters from a single sheet of leather. He also built the first automatic weaving machine, especially for leather. The inventions soon found their destination all over the world. Since 2012, Allan K has been drawing and designing their products in Antwerp and then transforming them into the most beautiful leather shoes and bags in Madras, with a great deal of expertise. Each Allan K piece is made according to ancient techniques and that is precisely why it can take 3 to 5 days for a creation to be completely finished.
